Happy Father’s Day – June 19, 2011
Copied from my facebook status today: “To all the fathers… whether you know it or not, whether you meant for it or not, whether you act like it or not, whether there’s two of you or one, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. Now, try your best to be the best DAD.”
Went to work this morning. When I came home, Adrian greeted me at the door with a big smile and shouted “Happy Father’s Day, Daddy!” and gave me this card.
Mommy helped cut out the letters and Adrian glued them to the card. Aaron and Adrian then put their handprints on it. This is the best father’s day for me so far because not only my son gave me a card himself, he also shouted Happy Father’s day to me. Man, they are growing fast. I really do wish that there’s a way to stop time or at least slow it down so we can enjoy the good things in life.
Good quotes for Father’s day:
Rob Long – Haida Art
A long time good friend of mine, Rob Long, gave up a lot of things so he can focus honing his skills as a Haida artist. Carving is in his blood, it’s his passion.
He is one of Robert Davidson‘s apprentice. Haida artist Robert Davidson is one of Canada’s most respected and important contemporary artists.
When Rob contacted me to see if I would like to take photos of his work, I never imagined that they were this gorgeous. When he first showed them to me, I seriously thought that they were stolen from a gallery. The intricacy, the details, the colors, left me in awe. You can really see all the hard work that went into each piece.
Enjoy Rob Long’s work. There’s more to come from him.
UPDATE: The green mask now belongs to a local gallery.
